A beautiful and rarely seen Brahea from northeastern Mexico, where it inhabits steep rocky slopes and sheer limestone cliffs. Although quite variable in appearance, the typical form produces a stocky, ocasionally clustering trunk to 5 or 6 m (17 to 20 ft.) tall, topped by a compact crown of stiff, light green or bluish leaves.
