New Guinea.

Description

Small to medium, solitary, acaulescent (trunkless).

Culture

Warm, sheltered, and moist, in a tropical or sub-tropical area.

Comments and Curiosities

This small, trunkless palm from montane rainforests in New Guinea is one of the more cool-growing Heterospathe and will do well in most warm temperate as well as tropical regions. Its new leaf unfolds in a beautiful orange or red color. (RPS.com), edric.
