A very pretty, stemless palmlet from the understorey of rainforests in Sarawak on the island of Borneo. It has circular fan-shaped leaves that are split into many very narrow segments. It grows just over 60 cm (2 ft.) tall. Var. 'furcata' has leaf blades with 3 to 7 segments with a conspicuous central segment. It is very rare in cultivation and much sought after by collectors, it will do best in a shady, wind-protected spot in the tropical garden. (RPS.com)
