Sumatara. Moist mid-altitude forests of Sumatra.

Description

"This is a monoecious palm, fast, suckering, fairly easy to grow, and which likes wet humid conditions in deepshade." (Dr. John L. Dowe), edric.

"Attractive densely clumping species of bifid or irregularly split pinnate palm from Sumatra in which the leaves are mottled, especially in the younger plants." (Geoff Stein), edric.
